about the artist

Alice Lam (b.1975) is an independent creative and visual artist living and working in NYC’s East Village.

Her paintings are highly inspired by the city’s capacity for unspoken street-level conversations: the collaborative color palettes and incidental compositions brought about by interacting layers of graffiti, peeling paint, poster remnants and time.

She developed her strong love of color, pattern and form in her early career as a surface designer for commercial outlets including Jonathan Adler, Kate Spade and Poppin. (For more on design and creative services, please visit circlealine.com.)

Alice's work has appeared in publications such as Centurion, Interior Design, Kolaj, Raw Fury and Uppercase Magazine, as well as exhibitions in New York City and Chicago.
